The A3 and M23 roadworks to avoid this week plus M25 full weekend closure
Road closures have been put in place by National Highways across Surrey this week which will likely impact the journey's of drivers, particularly those who plan on using the M25[1] this weekend. Overnight closures have been scheduled across the county so that key works can be undertaken for maintaining roads, while also minimising driver disruption. One of the major closures that will take place this week will be between junction 10 and 11 of the M25; the motorway will be closed in both directions from 9pm on Friday, March 21 until Monday, March 24 at 6am.
National Highways have warned drivers to only use the motorway and surrounding roads if your journey is absolutely necessary. This is while works are being done to widen the junction 10 where it meets the A3 Wisley Interchange, three new bridges have been built, two of which are gyratory bridges. On all road closures this week, drivers will be required to follow diversion routes while they take place, by using the provided diversions which will be highlighted by yellow boards.
Additionally, some of these road closures may begin as early as 8pm or 9pm, so it is important that drivers check their route before heading out and make adjustments for potential disruptions.
