Motorist pair fined hundreds of pounds for 57mph driving on M62

The cases of Michael Devlin and Scott Bellman were heard recently before Bolton Magistrates' Court and Tameside Magistrates' Court respectively. As a result, he was ordered to pay a total of ?428, broken down into a fine of ?220, surcharge to fund victim services of ?88, and court costs of ?120. In addition, his driving record has been endorsed with three penalty points. The case of Bellman, of Grasmere Avenue in Orford, was that he was driving a Scania lorry on the M62 westbound.

Between junctions 11 for Birchwood and 10 for Winwick, on August 15 last year, he was caught driving at 57mph, exceeding the temporary 50mph speed limit.

The 45-year-old pleaded guilty through a single justice procedure and was told he must pay ?204, including a fine of ?146 and a victim surcharge of ?58.

His driving record was also endorsed with three penalty points.
