Man seriously injured in crash involving lorry on major Greater Manchester road

A man in his 60s was rushed to hospital after a crash with a lorry. Emergency services were called Oldham[1] Road at around 1.30pm on Monday, March 17, to reports of a collision.
The road was closed between Old Church Road and A663 Broadway for a number of hours. An air ambulance was seen before a man was taken to hospital with suspected serious injuries.
Oldham Road remains closed between Droylsden[2] Road and Poplar Street as enquiries are ongoing.

Images from the scene show a large police cordon with a number of police cars.
A truck was also spotted within the cordon.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police[3] said: "At around 1.30pm today (17 March 2025), officers responded to reports of a collision on Oldham Road, Manchester.

"Emergency services are in attendance, and closures are currently in place."

We received a 999 call at 13.28."
