Man seriously injured after A1 lorry-van crash near Peterborough

A man in his 20s has suffered life-threatening injuries in a collision on the A1.

The collision happened on the southbound carriageway near Stibbington, Cambridgeshire, at about 07:20 GMT and involved a dark blue Vauxhall Vivaro and a HGV lorry, police said.

The driver of the van, a man in his 50s who was taken to Peterborough City Hospital with minor injuries, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and remains in hospital.

A passenger in the van was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge and e remains in a life-threatening condition.

The lorry driver was uninjured.
