Man rushed to hospital with ‘serious’ injuries after being hit by car

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward

A 69-year-old man has been rushed to hospital with 'serious' injuries after he was hit by a car in Oldham[1].

Emergency services were called to Oldham Road at around 1:30pm on Monday (March 17) following reports of a crash between a car and a pedestrian.

The road was closed between Old Church Road and A663 Broadway for a number of hours, with an air ambulance on the scene to treat the man.

Police have now confirmed a 69-year-old pedestrian was taken to hospital with 'serious' injuries.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses who may have information on the incident to come forward.

In a statement, the force said: "Shortly before 1:30pm yesterday (Monday 17 March) we were called to Oldham Road, Oldham, to reports of a road traffic collision between a car and a pedestrian.

"The pedestrian, a 69-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

"Police are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

"They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam, mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 1646 of 17/03/25.
