Man in life-threatening condition after car and lorry crash on Aberdeen’s South Deeside Road

A 24-year-old man is in hospital in a life-threatening condition after a car and a lorry crash on a busy Aberdeen[1] road. South Deeside Road[2] remains partly closed this evening between Bridge of Dee[3] and Milltimber[4] after the crash, which occurred at around 2.35pm. The crash involving a white Seat Ibiza and a white Scania lorry, happened on the B9077 between Leggart Terrace and Riverside of Blairs.
The road remains closed between Leggart Terrace and Milltimber Brae, and drivers have been asked by police to avoid the area if possible. His family have been informed, while the driver of the Scania, a 57-year-old man, was uninjured. Road Policing officers are now appealing for witnesses to get in touch, especially those who may have seen the collision or either vehicle prior to the crash.

Sergeant Sarah Ritchie of the North East Road Policing Unit said "Our thoughts are with those involved in the crash and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
"I would urge anyone who may have seen either vehicle prior to the collision or indeed witnessed the collision to contact us on 101 quoting incident number 1952 of 24 March".
