Live updates as A-road closed after lorry and van crash

An A-road in Cambridgeshire is currently closed in both directions following an incident in the area. The A142 Ely Road is closed and traffic is moving slowly in the area after a crash happened between Engine Bank and Elean Business Park. The police have asked drivers to avoid the area.

It has been reported the road is likely to be closed for several hours. Emergency services have been contacted for more information. Inrix, the traffic data monitoring company, said: "A142 Ely Road in both directions closed, slow traffic due to accident between Engine Bank and Elean Business Park."

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police said: "Please avoid the A142 at Mepal due to an RTC. The road is closed at Block Fen roundabout and Sutton roundabout. Likely to be closed for several hours."
