Crash involving pedestrian and HGV closes busy road for hours

A crash involving a pedestrian and an HGV closed the A322 today (Tuesday) for several hours. The incident was first reported around 9am. The incident took place[1] on the A322 Worplesdon Road, Guildford[2], near the Aldershot Road junction.

Police are investigating the collision. Police have not released details of the casualty. Shortly before 5pm, Surrey Police[3] confirmed that the route had been reopened.

A Surrey Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to reports of a serious collision involving an HGV and a pedestrian at around 9am this morning (18 March) on the A322 Worplesdon Road, Guildford, near the Aldershot Road Junction.

An investigation into the collision remains underway.
