Chippenham Pit Stop adds more parking spaces & better security

Chippenham Pit Stop has just upped its game with 63 extra truck parking spaces, making life a bit easier for drivers in need of a safe spot to rest.

Backed by a GBP2 million investment - partly funded by National Highways - the expansion aims to cut down on roadside parking and give drivers a secure, well-equipped place to stop. The site already boasts fuel pumps, a shop, a restaurant, and rest areas, and now there's even more space to park up without stress.

The upgrades also include the latest SNAP Access & Security tech, with ANPR cameras, high-definition CCTV and a barrier entry system to keep things secure. Thanks to these new cameras, SNAP has brought its bookable parking platform to the site, meaning drivers can now reserve a spot before they arrive - which should mean no more hunting for spaces after a long shift.

The grand opening saw industry professionals and members of the SNAP team in attendance, including managing director Matthew Bellamy, head of commercial UK Lisa McIntyre, and head of commercial access security Ben Sheldrake.

Sheldrake highlighted the benefits, saying: "Our mission is to make business premises safer and more efficient for drivers.

Integrating our security solutions at Chippenham Pit Stop ensures that drivers have access to a facility where they can rest confidently."

Bellamy added: "Truck drivers are the backbone of our economy, and it's vital they have safe, secure, and reliable places to rest.

National Highways' investment in improving truck parking areas, such as Chippenham Pit Stop, is a crucial step forward.

"By integrating advanced security solutions and bookable technology, we are making these sites safer and more efficient for drivers and operators alike."

SNAP specialises in high-tech security solutions for the haulage industry, with a focus on secure access control, CCTV monitoring, and ANPR.
