Woman assaulted close to bridge over busy M27 whilst out running

A woman has been assaulted whilst running toward a bridge close to a busy motorway.

Hampshire Police launched an investigation after the victim, who is in her 30s, was hit on her bottom by an unknown man who ran up to her.

It happened on Peronne Road in Portsmouth near to the M27 on Tuesday 18th February at around 8am.

Details have now been released of a suspect who police want to speak to.

The man has been described as being white, aged between 20 and 30-years-old, around 6ft tall with an athletic build.

He was wearing a black puffa jacket, a hoody worn tight around his face, and dark trousers.

The woman wasn't physically injured but left in pain.

A statement from Hampshire Police said, "We have conducted a number of enquiries and are now turning to the public for any information that may assist our investigation.
