Tragedy as man, 76, and woman, 63, killed in horror crash on major road

A 76-year-old man and a 63-year-old woman have tragically died in a Cheshire[1] crash.

The pair were travelling in a white Ford Kuga which was involved in a collision with a lorry on the A500 near Crewe on Saturday (February 15).

Cheshire Police[2] says officers were called out to the scene at 6.30pm.

The man was driving the Ford while the woman was a passenger in the same car.

The pair, both from the Stoke-on-Trent area, were sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Cheshire Police says their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Enquiries are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or has any relevant dashcam footage from the scene.

Sergeant Russel Sime, of Cheshire Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "The A500 is a busy road and as part of our investigation, we are appealing for anyone who witnessed this collision to get in touch.

"The same goes for anyone who has any dashcam or CCTV footage that may help us determine how this incident occurred.
