The European Transport Board joins IRU to strengthen industry collaboration

IRU welcomes the European Transport Board (ETB), a significant industry network in Europe, as its newest member.

By joining IRU, the world road transport organisation, the ETB[1] seeks to advance safety, efficiency and sustainability across European transport and logistics, benefiting from IRU's extensive global network. The ETB consists of decision-makers from 22 major European transport and logistics companies, collectively operating a fleet of more than 300,000 vehicles. It represents the shared voice of leading European companies by promoting knowledge-sharing and advocating practical solutions.

IRU Secretary General Umberto de Pretto said, "We are pleased to bring the ETB into the IRU family. Our shared vision for a thriving road transport sector will allow us to drive better solutions for communities and businesses alike." "IRU's global network of members stands to benefit from the ETB's focus on key areas of sustainable and efficient transport, such as longer truck combinations," he added.

ETB member Rogier Laan said, "Collaboration is key to driving meaningful change in road transport."

"By joining IRU, ETB can share expertise, learn from industry leaders, and help develop smart, practical solutions that make a real difference for fleets and businesses across Europe," he added.

The ETB was founded as an initiative of TIP Group in 2005.
