M5 traffic live: Serious crash involving lorry, car and pedestrian closes motorway in both directions in West Country

A stretch of the M5 was closed in both directions following a crash involving a lorry in the West Country this afternoon (Wednesday, February 26). The collision happened in Somerset and traffic was trapped within the closure - yr The incident was between junction 24 for Bridgwater South and junction 25 for Taunton.
Northbound was closed at around 3.25pm and southbound was closed at around 3.15pm. Northbound reopened around 6pm but southbound remained closed for a while longer, before reopening around 9.30pm. Delays remained.
It is understood a car, a lorry and a pedestrian were involved in the collision.
