M5 in Somerset closed Southbound following ‘serious’ crash involving lorry

The M5 in Somerset has been closed in both directions following a serious crash involving a lorry.
Those travelling can expect "severe delays" on the evening of Wednesday 26 February.
The Northbound carriageway has now reopened, but traffic is still heavy.
Traffic monitoring service Inrix reports that the motorway is closed from Junction 24 (Bridgwater South) to Junction 25 (Taunton).
There's further congestion reaching Junction 23 (Bridgwater North) and on routes through North Petherton and Bridgwater as traffic heads away along the diversion route.
Inrix adds: "Trapped traffic is now being released in the southbound closure."
A diversion is in place from the southbound exit of the M5 at Junction 24 onto the A38 towards Huntworth Roundabout.
Avon and Somerset Police told ITV West Country: "The M5 has been closed in both directions between junctions 24 (Bridgwater) and 25 (Taunton) after a serious collision.
"We were called at 2.43pm and emergency services are in attendance.
"The road is expected to be closed for some time.
Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and we thank them for their patience.
"If you were travelling in the area at the time and have any dashcam footage or information which could help our investigation, please call 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5225050845."
