M6: Van driver suffers serious injuries following crash

At 5:20am yesterday, officers received a report of a crash between an Iveco Daily Van and a Renault Heavy Tractor Artic HGV on the Northbound carriageway of the motorway, at Bilsborrow. The driver of the Iveco suffered serious injuries, and was taken to hospital, where he remains. The incident between Junction 32 (M55) and Junction 33 (Garstang) closed the motorway for several hours as emergency teams conducted an investigation.
Sgt Stuart Hart, said: "A man has been left with some very serious injuries following this collision, and my thoughts are very much with him and his loved ones as he receives treatment.
"We know that a number of vehicles will have passed the scene of the collision, so if you were in one of those vehicles, or have dashcam footage to assist our investigation, please get in touch with us."
