Lorry and car crash closes busy A-road for hours

Motorists faced long delays on a busy A-road in Cornwall yesterday afternoon (Thursday, February 13) following a crash involving a black Citroen C-Crosser and a yellow Iveco Daily van. The A387 Polperro Road, West Looe[1], was closed following a two-vehicle crash between Tencreek and Goonwartha. Devon and Cornwall Police have since confirmed that a man, aged 58 and from the local area, was rushed seriously injured in the crash and rushed to hospital.
They are urging witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward. Police said: "Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a road traffic collision on the A387 Polperro Road near West Looe. Officers were called to Polperro Road at around 3.55pm on Thursday 13 February following reports of a collision involving a black Citroen C-Crosser and a yellow Iveco Daily van.
"The Citroen driver, a 58-year-old local man, was seriously injured during the collision and is being treated in hospital. His family are with him. The road was closed while an investigation was carried out at the scene.
"Officers from the Roads Policing Team would like to thank the public for their patience.
