First picture of pedestrian who died in crash involving lorry and car
The family of a pedestrian who died after a crash involving a lorry and car[1] have paid tribute to him. Steven Barry Ellis, 56, from the Wrexham[2] area, died on Sunday, February 2, following the collision on the A534 Wrexham Road in Holt. The collision involved a lorry, car and two pedestrians.
Mr Ellis, one of the pedestrians, died at the scene. The second pedestrian, a male, remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries. Mr Ellis' family have now issued a tribute to him, which said: "Wayne and Debra Ellis from Wrexham have paid tribute to their brother, Steven Barry Ellis who was tragically lost in a road traffic accident on Sunday night.
Steven had struggled for many years with addiction issues and had some success with rehabilitating his life until very recently. "Steven had a massive heart and would be missed by everyone that knew him." Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the collision, which happened near to the Holt Lodge Inn shortly after 7pm. Sergeant Stephen Richards of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "Our thoughts remain with Mr Ellis' family at this very difficult time.
They are being supported by a specially trained Family Liaison Officer. We'd like to thank all those who have already made contact with us, however we continue to urge anybody who may have witnessed the collision, or anybody who may have been travelling along Wrexham Road near to the Holt Lodge Inn and who may have information or dash cam footage to contact us as soon as possible." Anybody with information is urged to contact officers at North Wales Police[3]'s Serious Collision Investigation Unit via the website https://orlo.uk/ubogS[4] or by calling 101, quoting reference number 25000089738.
