Wheaton Presents Innovative Solutions for Glass Packaging

Wheaton : In its third consecutive participation, the company will highlight its expertise in designing and producing glass packaging with sophistication and sustainability On January 28th and 29th, 2025, Wheaton, a national leader and one of the largest global manufacturers of glass packaging for perfumery and cosmetics, will be present at PCD, one of the world's leading trade fairs for packaging for perfumes, cosmetics and personal care. The event, which will take place at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, commits to be a milestone for the beauty packaging industry, bringing together more than 750 exhibitors and 14,000 attendees, including 2,900 brand owners and design agencies.

This is where big names in the industry present their innovations and trends. Combining innovation, sustainability and business opportunities, Paris Packaging Week 2025 will be the meeting place for companies looking to update their packaging strategies and stay ahead in the global marketplace. With several prominent lines, both for its design and its relationship with the environment, Wheaton will be present at the event in order to strengthen its position in the packaging market for the beauty segment.

Regarding ecodesign, the Ecoglass Line will be one of the main highlights at the event. Developed to exploit the sustainable credentials that glass packaging can have, it aims to promote the circular economy and, above all, to reduce the consumption of raw materials taken from nature. The line has just received a new 200 ml bottle (MB-1551-S), designed from a proposal for refill, promoting the circular economy.

This new bottle is lightweight, with about 20% less glassy mass than traditional bottles, resulting in a significant reduction in energy consumption, as well as a reduction of about 15% in CO2 emissions. The screw termination allows the refilling of the perfume, encouraging the conscious use of the packaging, in addition to facilitating the recycling process, uniting innovation and environmental responsibility. Among the novelties, Wheaton also presents the new collection of standard bottles, which now has three new bottles, keeping the same format in different size options.

With a modern, elegant design and thick bottom, these bottles are available in the capacities of 100 ml (MB-1581-N1), 50 ml (MB-1582-N1) and 30 ml (SB-1767-N1), following the international concepts of perfumery. As for the innovations in decoration, the company will present the special Hot Stamping tapes. The technique consists of a decoration process through a thermal tape, which produces recordings in various colors and this time with many options of differentiated effects.

Another technology that will be exhibited at the fair is the Crystal Effect Painting, obtained by applying a special varnish that creates a particular effect around the painting, giving each bottle a unique aesthetic. This process values the standard of sophistication of glass packaging, providing not only a visually captivating appearance, but also a tactile feel. Still on Wheaton's decoration technologies, the Marble Effect Painting stands out, a technique that gives the bottles a sense of nobility, sophistication, beauty and depth.

Alluding to natural stones, the painting gives a technological and modern aesthetic, capable of connecting the consumer with nature and giving each piece a different result. EcoVadis Silver Medal and ESG pillars In order to promote sustainability in its packaging and processes, Wheaton has created a multidisciplinary group dedicated to ESG issues, which evaluates and implements actions to ensure the long-term sustainable viability of the business.

Since 2023, the company has used exclusively electricity from certified renewable water sources in its industrial park, allowing the full neutralization of scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions. In this context, Wheaton's stand at PCD Paris will reference the EcoVadis Silver Medal, one of the world's leading corporate sustainability certifications, received in June 2024. The award places Wheaton among the top 15% of companies evaluated in criteria such as Environment, Ethics, Labor Practices and Human Rights and Sustainable Purchasing.

Awards are given to the best companies, based on the percentile rank, which compares the company's performance with all companies evaluated over the past 12 months -- regardless of industry.

The Wheaton space at PCD Paris promises to connect visitors to trends, innovative solutions and sustainable practices, aligning technology and design with the demands of the global market.
