Social housing scheme planned near M1 motorway

The Local Democracy Reporting Service[1] said the latest plans followed the granting of outline planning permission for the scheme in November 2023.

Road access to the site would be from Wardens Walk, currently a cul-de-sac.

East Midlands Housing said it had consulted residents and a "relatively small" number of comments were received about traffic concerns, access through Warden's Walk, and noise mitigation for the new housing.

A statement, submitted by the developer, said the scheme would help to address a "strong demand for additional affordable homes" in the area and have "significant social benefits".

A decision is expected to be made on the plans by early April.
