Senior Appointments at UK Warehousing Association

The UK Warehousing Association (UKWA) has made two senior appointments to the executive leadership team. Edwin Morgan and Sharon Mughal joined the Association in January, Edwin as UKWA's new Policy & Public Affairs Director, and Sharon as Head of Membership. Edwin has 15 years of experience in policy, public affairs and communications, including a stint as Director of Policy at the Institute of Directors, the UK's longest-running membership organisation for business leaders.

Edwin has worked with companies of all sizes, from large corporations to start-ups, representing their views to Ministers and senior civil servants under successive governments. As Policy & Public Affairs Director Edwin will be ensuring members' collective voice is heard by government on a range of issues, from decarbonising the economy and increasing workforce skills, to planning reform and the case for driving down business rates.  Sharon has spent the past 16 years working in membership roles for trade bodies, including the last four years in the temperature-controlled logistics sector, leading membership teams and driving engagement.

She will lead UKWA's member-focused, resourceful and ambitious team, dedicated to supporting and adding value for members. In further organisational changes, Debby Potts has been appointed Operations Director taking on fresh responsibilities at UKWA. Meanwhile Lisa Schulze has stepped into the new role of Senior Relationships & Sales Manager.

Commenting on the appointments, UKWA CEO Clare Bottle said, "Over the last year or so we have been expanding our policy, membership and marketing teams as the Association has grown both in size and stature, ensuring we have the best people in place to deliver on our 4-pillar mission - raising the profile of the warehousing sector, driving up industry standards, building community and, of course, supporting our members.

We welcome the additional expertise, energy and fresh perspectives Edwin and Sharon bring, while having Debby and Lisa in newly created positions builds on proven achievement and valuable experience, further strengthening our 'dream team'

I'm looking forward to working within our new structure and am truly excited to see what we can achieve together in 2025 and beyond!"
