NextPort.AI drives Digital Twin transformation at Malta Freeport

Malta Freeport Terminals has become the first in its group to implement a Digital Twin, developed by NextPort.AI, to enhance operational efficiency. This move marks a significant step in the terminal's digital transformation, leveraging AI-driven data insights to optimise performance. The project builds on a European research initiative from 2018, in which CMA CGM played a key role.

Insights gained from this earlier work have informed the current implementation, supporting the integration of AI within terminal operations. The Digital Twin technology[1] is designed to improve decision-making by providing a visual representation of operations, using real-time data to align execution with planning. It also facilitates training and troubleshooting through deep analytics while helping to reduce costs by identifying and addressing inefficiencies proactively.

The system is built on a foundation of terminal data framed by TIC4.0[5], as per the company's statement, and it augments existing systems like TOS, PDS, and AIS.

NexPort.AI expressed a strong commitment to delivering value and fostering long-term relationships with customers like Malta Freeport.
