Man, 53, dies in horror A90 crash with lorry near Cruden Bay as police launch appeal
Police are appealing for information after a 53-year-old man died in a crash[1] between a car and a lorry on the A90[2]. Emergency services[3] were rushed to the scene at West Auchiries near Cruden Bay[4] at around 1pm on Friday, January 17. Officers had been made aware of a collision involving a grey Toyota RAV 4 and a lorry, with the of the car tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
His family has been informed. A 47-year-old man who was driving the lorry was uninjured in the crash. The A90 remained closed for around 13 hours while accident investigation work was carried out, and reopened at around 2am on Saturday, January 18.
Police are now urging anyone who witnessed the crash or those with dash cam footage to come forward. Road Policing Sergeant Eoin Maxwell said: "Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died at this very difficult time as well as with the others affected by this collision.

"Our enquires remain ongoing to establish exactly what happened. I would ask anyone who was in the area around the time to contact us with any information, no matter how significant they believe it may be. "If you have a dash-cam, please review your footage as it could prove significant to our investigation."
