Lorry crashes into hedge on A120 roundabout causing long delays
A lorry has crashed on a major Essex road this morning with delays expected to last most of the day. The lorry ploughed into some hedges on the Mark's Farm Roundabout near Braintree, connecting the A120 and the A131, leaving a man injured. The incident took place around 2am but it will take a long time to remove the lorry from the scene via "special recovery work", Essex Police said.
Traffic is currently coping well but there could be impacts on traffic for the rest of the day today (January 24). A spokesman for the police said: "We responded to reports of a single-vehicle collision involving a lorry at Marks Farm Roundabout, connecting the A131 and A120 at Braintree, shortly before 2.20am on Friday 24 January. Impact on the nearby road network is likely throughout the afternoon while complex and specialist recovery work continues.
"Drivers are urged to avoid the area if at all possible."
