‘Long delays’ on A52 carriageway after lorry and car crash

Long delays are being reported on a busy stretch of the A52 in Nottinghamshire[1] after a crash involving a car and a lorry. The major route is currently closed westbound near Stragglethorpe Road in Radcliffe on Trent[2]. Emergency services were called to the scene just before 4pm on Tuesday, January 21.

Nottinghamshire Police said no injuries were reported. A spokesman for the force said he was not sure how long the westbound closure will remain in place. Traffic monitoring site Inrix said: "Long delays and one lane closed due to accident, two vehicles involved on A52 Radcliffe Road Westbound at Stragglethorpe Road.

Congestion to before the Bingham Road traffic lights. "Lane one (of two) is closed after the road was fully closed for a short time prior to 17:00. Affecting traffic towards Nottingham." Nottingham Travelwise advised drivers to avoid the area and said traffic lights had been damaged.

It posted on X: "Please continue to look to utilise alternative routes where possible for your journey this evening due to increased congestion in the area."
