Woman seriously injured in crash between car and lorry at park and ride

A white Volvo HGV carrying a cherry-picker and a black Nissan Micra were involved a collision at the traffic light junction of A44 Woodstock Road with Peartree Park and Ride at around 12.13pm on Tuesday (December 17). The passenger in the Nissan Micra, a woman aged in her 80s, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital where she remains. The driver, a man aged in his 70s, sustained minor injuries.

The HGV driver was not injured. Investigating officer PC Jon Simpkins of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said: "I am appealing for witnesses to this incident whereby a passenger has sustained serious injuries after this collision. "I would ask that anyone who was in the area where this collision took place, to please get in touch with us if you saw anything or have any information.

"Also, if any motorists in the area have dash-cam footage, I would ask them to please check as to whether anything significant was caught, as it could help our investigation."
