Woman in 50s dies after car and lorry crash

A woman has died after a crash between a car and a lorry on Cheshire bypass. Police and paramedics were called to the A534 Haslington Bypass near Sandbach at around 11.45am on Monday, December 16. The crash[1] involved a white HGV tractor Unit and a silver Vauxhall Crossland near Wheelock Farm.

The driver of the car, a 53-year-old woman from Sandbach, sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash and was taken to hospital. Despite the best efforts of all those involved, she has since died. Her next of kin are aware and they are being supported by specialist officers.

Detective Sergeant Simon Degg, of the Cheshire[2] Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "Enquires in relation to this collision are ongoing and we're committed to doing all we can to establish what took place.

"The A534 is an extremely busy road and as part of our investigation we are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what took place.

The same goes for anyone with a dashcam footage which may aid our investigation."
