Woman dies after major A-road crash between lorry and car

A woman has died following a two-vehicle crash on the A142 in Cambridgeshire[1]. Police[2] officers were called at about 4.25pm on Wednesday (December 11) with reports of a crash between Common Road and Witchford Road[3] in Ely[4]. The crash involved a Suzuki Vitara and a Volvo HGV, and the driver of the Suzuki died at the scene. The driver of the HGV was not injured and is assisting officers with their enquiries.

The road was closed for more than six hours as accident investigation work took place. Cambridgeshire Police[5] is urging anyone who witnessed the collision, saw any of the vehicles in the moments leading up to it, or anyone who has relevant dashcam footage to get in touch.
