Man left with serious injuries after A14 lorry crash

A man who was freed from his lorry by firefighters after a crash on the A14[1] is being treated for serious injuries in hospital. Two articulated lorries were involved in the incident[2] at about 1.15pm on Monday (December 2) on the westbound carriageway near Easton. One of the lorries left the road and landed in a ditch after hitting the crash barrier. The driver of this vehicle was freed by the fire service[3] and taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital[4] in Cambridge[5], with serious injuries.

The person driving the other lorry escaped unhurt. Police[6] officers are now appealing for witnesses, and they are keen to gather dashcam footage of both the crash and the events leading up to it. If you witnessed the incident or saw the vehicles in the build-up to it, you can contact the Roads Policing Unit online here[7] and quote incident 208 of December 2. Alternatively, you can call 101.
