M62: Huge delays after earlier crash on the motorway
The collision happened on the eastbound carriageway of the M62, between junction 25 (Brighouse) and junction 26 (Chain Bar, M606). It was first reported just before 2pm, according to the AA. Three lanes had to be shut while the crash was dealt with, with lane one remaining open.
This was cleared and the lanes reopened at around 3.30pm. The average speed is down to eight miles per hour at that junction, and 16mph at junction 25, according to National Highways.
The AA traffic alert map also shows heavy congestion in and around Brighouse, particularly on the A643, Elland Road (A6025) and Huddersfield Road (A641).
