Drivers die in two-lorry crash on A15 in Lincolnshire

Two drivers died in a crash involving two lorries on the A15 in Lincolnshire. Police said a Volvo lorry and a Scania lorry collided near to the Snitterby junction. The incident was reported to Lincolnshire Police[1] at shortly after 9.30am on Tuesday (December 24.) The road was closed in both directions north of Caenby Corner after the collision.

An initial report from police said a car was also involved in the incident but the force later confirmed that it was only between two vehicles. ADVERTISEMENT Motorists were asked to avoid the area where possible on Christmas Eve. Police said the road would be shut for some time, with the closure still in place at 4pm.

Police have appealed for any witnesses or with dashcam footage to contact them. An update from Lincolnshire Police on the crash, issued on Tuesday afternoon, said: "We can confirm that two people have sadly died following a collision on the A15 near Caenby Corner, this morning. Officers attended following the collision near the Snitterby junction, which involved a Volvo lorry and a Scania lorry.

Further to our initial report, no car was involved in this incident. "Sadly, the drivers of both lorries were pronounced dead at the scene. Both men were aged 51: one man was from the Barnsley area, the other man from the Cleethorpes area.

The road remains closed."
