Delays along the M4 near Wycombe due to tipped over lorry
The emergency services were called to near Junction 8/9 [Maidenhead and High Wycombe], as images taken from the scene showed the seriousness of the incident, which occurred on Saturday evening, December 7. Whilst no official cause has been disclosed, it is believed that the HGV was tipped over due to Storm Darragh. It happened near Junction 8/9 along the M4 (Image: TVP) In some parts of the country, winds reached up to 93mph.
"A statement from the force reads: "TT B Shift and National Highways are currently on scene with an overturned HGV on top of junction 8/9 of the M4 motorway. "A westbound closure at junction 8/9 exit is expected to be in place overnight whilst a specialist recovery is arranged. "Thankfully the driver was not seriously hurt and has been treated at the scene by Paramedics for minor injuries."

This includes sections of the Thames Valley, as fallen trees have blocked a handful of roads in High Wycombe.
