A30 diversion routes as crash shuts road for nine hours

Motorists are being diverted around a serious crash on the A30[1] in Cornwall this morning. The road has been closed eastbound for more than nine hours overnight following a collision between a lorry and a tractor near Camborne[2]. Devon and Cornwall Police[3] are carrying out an investigation at the scene and National Highways said it is standing by to clear up an oil spill when the investigation is over.

It added in a statement on its website that there is currently no estimated timeframe to reopen the road. The road is currently shut between the A3047 for Camborne west and A3047 for Tolvaddon. According to reports, the collision took place just before 9.30pm on Monday, December 16 and is still closed as of 7am today (Tuesday, December 17).

Diversion routes are in place around the closure and will take drivers through Camborne. Highways advises road users to:

  • Leave the A30 at Treswithina junction on the A3047.
  • Turn left to Rosewarne and then turn left under the A30 to South Tehidy.
  • Turn right again to re-join the A30 at Tolvaddon.
