Two people trapped in vehicle after car and lorry crash on busy Essex road

Two people have been cut free from a vehicle after a major crash near a busy Essex roundabout. There remain considerable delays at Galley’s Corner roundabout in Braintree near the A120 following a crash this afternoon (November 4). All emergency services rushed to the scene at the roundabout at around 1.30pm this afternoon following a crash between a car and heavy goods vehicle (HGV).

At the scene firefighters found two people trapped in the wreckage. The B1018 which connects to the A120 at the roundabout is partially closed northbound while crews continue to work at the scene. Essex County Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they rescued two people and left them in the care of the ambulance service.

On arrival, firefighters confirmed it was a collision between a HGV and a car, with two people trapped. Crews used specialist equipment to rescue the casualties by 3pm, they were left in the care of the paramedics.” Essex Police have now appealed for witnesses of the crash to get in touch.

A spokesman said: “We were called to reports of a collision on the A120 near Braintree shortly before 1.30pm on Monday 4 November. It was reported to have involved a car and an HGV. “The incident is ongoing.
