Three people injured after crash involving lorry and two cars on major road
Two people have been taken to hospital and another was treated by paramedics after a late-night crash involving a lorry in Derbyshire’s countryside[1]. Officers were called to the A52[2] Painters Lane near Ednaston – between Derby and Ashbourne – at 9.10pm on Monday (November 4) following reports of a collision in the area. Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service[3] also attended the scene, issuing a statement at 10pm which read: “We are currently dealing with an incident on the A52 near Yeldersley.
Please try to avoid the area at this time. Thank you for your patience.” Derbyshire police[4] confirmed that three people sustained injuries in the collision, which involved a lorry, a BMW 3 Series and an Audi A3.[5] One person was treated at the scene by paramedics, and the other two attended hospital.
Their injuries have since been described as “not life-changing or threatening”. A spokesperson for the force said: “We received a call to report a collision between three vehicles on the A52 Painters Lane, Ednaston, at 9.10pm yesterday evening. The related stretch of the A52 was closed[6] until the early hours of this morning, while vehicle recovery work took place.
