Southwaite Services staff brave the shave for charity

Ten members of staff from the motorway service station on the M6 were given the choice to either shave their heads bald or take off their beards for charity on Thursday, November 28. The 'fundrazor' was set up to raise cash for the Moto Foundation, a charity set up by the Cumbrian service station's parent company. The staff members before the 'fundrazor' (Image: Supplied) To date, the fundraiser, via JustGiving, has raised GBP550 for the charity which aims to make 'a positive difference to communities around Moto's motorway rest-stops.'

After the staff members had parted with their hair, Matthew Kirby, Southwaite Services' site operations manager, explained more about the work the Moto Foundation does. He said: "The Moto Foundation makes a positive difference to communities around Moto's motorway rest stops. (Image: Supplied) "We do this by supporting our national partners, the mental health charities Mind and SAMH (in Scotland), and the Woodland Trust and WWT (Wildfowl and Wetland Trust).

"The Moto Foundation gives community grants to charities local to Moto's sites, totalling over GBP62,000 in 2023, and supports a network of adopted schools and community partners. We've donated over 230,000 new books to schools since 2006. Luke Quayle (Image: Supplied) "We would really appreciate any donations that you can spare.

Every penny counts."
