M6 mayhem as five BULLS run loose after trailer flips in crash
Five bulls brought traffic to a standstill on the M6 in Staffordshire after the trailer they were in overturned in a crash. The cattle are now being assessed by vets following the smash on the[1] northbound side between junctions 13 and 14[2] for Stafford during the morning rush-hour (November 13).
The alarm was was raised at 8.30am when a passing fire station manager on his way to work spotted the collision. Four crews, including an animal rescue team, were dispatched to the scene along with a Unimog truck.
Firefighters then used specialist equipment to put the trailer back on four wheels and moved the animals to a place of safety with the help of a vet.
Both sides of the M6 have since reopened after traffic was held to allow for the vehicle to be recovered. However, a multi-vehicle crash near junction 14[3] has led to huge delays which are ongoing this afternoon.
