Recap as road reopens after lorry crashes into bridge in Co Antrim
A road has now reopened in Carrickfergus following earlier disruption afer a lorry crashed into a bridge in the town. Police closed the junction of Albert Road and North Road in the Co Antrim[1] following the collision and asked drivers to find alternative routes for their journeys. Translink[2] had also warned of disruption to services due to the collision, including train services, with a shuttle bus running between Whitehead and Carrickfergus stations while the closure was in place.
Police have now confirmed that the road has reopened. In a statement, a spokesperson for the PSNI[3] said: "The junction of Albert Road and North Road in Carrickfergus has reopened following an earlier road traffic collision."
