M6 double lorry crash live as drivers warned of ‘major disruption’

A double lorry crash is causing long queues on the M6 in the West Midlands this morning, Thursday November 14. Traffic is building up on the approach into Birmingham city centre after two lorries were involved in a crash on the northbound side of the M6, which approaches Birmingham and the Black Country. Live traffic system INRIX reported the incident taking place at 6:57am and warned drivers of “severe delays”.

Lanes are also currently closed to allow for traffic management on the scene. West Midlands Roads took to X, formerly Twitter, this morning to warn of “major disruption” around the M6 northbound and A38 Spaghetti Junction. INRIX stated: “Severe delays and three lanes closed due to accident, two lorries involved on M6 Northbound[1] from J6 A38 Tyburn Road (Spaghetti Junction) to J7 A34 Birmingham Road (Great Barr).

Congestion to J5 (Castle Bromwich ).” It is likely that Solihull and Coventry motorists will be affected, with long knock on delays on the wider network expected. Traffic cameras are showing long snaking queues on the approach to Birmingham.
