Lorry crashes into power line at Bayston Hill in Shrewsbury

Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service was called on Monday afternoon to Pulley Lane, in Bayston Hill, on the A49 near Shrewsbury[1]. The incident is just hours after a crash[2] where a pub and a takeaway were crashed into by a lorry in the village. A spokesperson for the fire service said a fire engine from Shrewsbury was scrambled to the scene.

The said there has been a report of an overhead power line being knocked down by a lorry. A power cut has also been reported in the area affecting up to 28 customers with an estimated restoration time of 10pm. National Grid says that the reason for outage is third party damage to the network
