Long M5 rush hour delays after vehicle fire
There were long delays on the M5 this morning following a vehicle fire. One lane was closed on the motorway southbound between junctions 7 and 8, causing traffic queues throughout rush hour today (November 14). National Highways reports around five miles of queues have already formed on the motorway following the fire, with delays of around 45 minutes compared to normal journey times.
Traffic cameras show the miles of congestion on the road. Traffic monitor Inrix reports: “One lane closed and very slow traffic due to vehicle fire on M5 Southbound from J7 A44 (Worcester / Evesham) to J8 M50.” According to Inrix, the motorway reopened at around 8.35am.
