Statement from the fire service
A Merseyside Fire & Rescue service spokesperson said: “Fire crews were called to a Road Traffic Collision (RTC) on Bowring Park Road, Liverpool L14 this afternoon. Crews were alerted at 4.43pm and on scene at 4.49pm, with two fire engines and the search and rescue team in attendance. “Crews arrived to find two cars involved in a collision, the driver of one vehicle was out of the vehicle on arrival conscious and breathing, the occupant of the second vehicle was conscious and breathing but confined to the vehicle.
North West Ambulance Service were also on scene. “Crews stabilised the vehicle and removed the front driver’s door to allow access for paramedics and on the advice of paramedics, removed the roof of the vehicle and extracted the casualty using a spine board to be taken into the care of paramedics for onward transport to hospital. “Merseyside Police were also on scene managing traffic.
Crews left the scene at 5.31pm.”
