Lanes closed after major A-road crash involving two lorries

Three lanes of the A1 in Cambridgeshire[1] are closed this afternoon (November 18) following a crash involving two lorries. The incident was first reported at around 1.45pm. Queuing traffic is on the southbound carriageway before J14 in Alconbury.

Lanes one, two and three (of four) are shut and there is debris on the road. It is currently unclear what caused the crash, nor how long the lanes will be closed for. However, motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.
