Crash closes Somerset A-road in both directions
An A-road in Somerset was closed, leaving traffic moving slowly, after a crash this morning. The A39 Bath Road was shut in both directions at Ashcott, just outside of Street. Google Maps reported delays in the area, in both directions.
The road was closed between Wood Lane and Shapwick Hill, according to traffic monitor Inrix. Inrix says: “A39 Bath Road in both directions closed, slow traffic due to accident from Wood Lane to Shapwick Hill.” Avon and Somerset Police said a lorry was involved in a crash on the road at around 6am today.
The A39 has reopened after the vehicle was recovered.
A spokesperson said: “The A39 at Loxley Woods near Ashcott reopened at about 8am today, Friday 15 November, following a closure from about 6am to allow for the recovery of an articulated lorry after an earlier single-vehicle non-injury collision.”
