Ardent Hire allies with Volvo for new Volvo FMX fleet

Ardent Volvo FMX

Plant rental and sales company Ardent Hire has just added the first of 12 new Volvo FMX 420 trucks with specialised plant bodies to its nationwide fleet.

The trucks were brought in on hire purchase, wrapping up a big fleet update that started with 20 high-spec Volvo FH 500 tractor units last year, financed by Asset Alliance Group.

The new Volvo FMXs come with beavertail bodies by Webb Truck Equipment, Dura-Bright alloy wheels, a GSR2 safety package (Forward Collision Warning, Advanced Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping Support, Nearside Proximity Sensors), and full air suspension.

They’re also equipped with AirBar safety systems that create a visual safety zone around the truck when drivers exit the cab.

The rest of the new trucks will be joining Ardent’s fleet over the coming months.

Ardent runs a Volvo-only fleet of 32 trucks with 35 drivers, supplying plant equipment all over the UK.

Their offerings range from event gear to essential equipment for big construction and home-building projects.

They also have one of the UK’s largest telehandler fleets, plus forklifts, roto telehandlers, smart fuel tanks and a wide range of attachments – all managed from six depots across the country.
