Woman dies in lorry and car crash
A woman from Cornwall[1] died at the scene of a crash last night (Tuesday, October 15). The collision involved a Scania lorry and a silver Kia Ceed. It took place at around 10pm on the A30[2] at Whiddon Down in Devon[3] and emergency services rushed to the scene.
Sadly, the Kia passenger, a woman in her 40s from Helston[4], sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead. The driver, a man in his 60s and also from Helston, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital by ambulance. The road was closed in both directions as investigation work takes place.
Devon and Cornwall Police[5] said: “Police closed the A30 for an examination of the scene and for the vehicles to be recovered. Highways are currently on scene working to clear and reopen the road. “Officers are conducting enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the collision and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
They would like to hear from anyone who may have captured the incident on dashcam footage. Please contact police online[6] or by telephone on 101, quoting log 835 of 15/10/2024.” ?
