A representative for Frimley Park Hospital said: "We have had to make the very sad announcement to our staff today (Wednesday, October 2) that our well-respected colleague, Nick Payne, Emergency Department Consultant, died yesterday (Tuesday, October 1) in a road traffic collision." At the site of the tragic incident where Payne's vehicle collided with a concrete barrier before plunging over the bridge onto the southbound carriageway, floral memorials speak volumes of his character, commemorating him as a cherished friend and guide, known for his "smile, waistcoats and banter", reports Surrey Live[2]. Heartfelt social media tributes have been pouring in after the tragic M3 crash that claimed Mr Payne's life.

Surrey Police are calling for witnesses, particularly to track a black BMW I3 seen before the collision.
