Lorry falls 60 metres from bridge on M6 in Cheshire
A lorry has plummeted 60 metres from a bridge on the M6 in Cheshire. The vehicle fell from the Thelwall Viaduct near Warrington – between junctions 20 and 21 on the motorway – and landed on an embankment below, police said. It happened at around 6.50pm on Monday.
It’s thought the driver of the lorry has not suffered life-threatening injuries. They were rescued by fire crews who lowered themselves down to the lorry. Cheshire[1] Fire and Rescue Service used water to cool the vehicle and stopped a leak of around 1,000 litres of fuel.
