Live: M5 crash causes all traffic to be held
M5 traffic has been halted[1] following a crash north of Bristol this afternoon, Tuesday, October 1. According to traffic monitoring site Inrix, the crash took place on the northbound carriageway of the M5[2] between junction 13 for Stroud and junction 12 for Quedgeley. It is also being reported that a dog is loose on the carriageway.
We will keep you updated with our live blog below. Vehicles are reportedly stationary in both directions. Traffic is building on routes around the motorway as drivers seek alternative routes.
The crash was first reported at around 2pm. Inrix says: “All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to accident on M5 in both directions from J13 A419 ( Stroud ) to J12 A430 ( Quedgeley / Hardwicke ). Congestion to routes through Whitminster along the A38 as traffic heads away.
Camera shows traffic has stopped before 14:00.”
