Glasgow M8 police chase ends after BMW driver allegedly ‘on drugs’ blocked by HGV
A lengthy police chase on the busy M8 came to an abrupt end after a HGV blocked the BMW officers were after. Glasgow Road Police[1] were on patrol on Wednesday when the driver allegedly ‘failed to stop’ for officers when approached. It is alleged he was under the influence of drugs, had no licence or insurance and was driving dangerously.
Officers pursued the driver along the busy motorway before he had no choice but to stop after his path was blocked. He has since been arrested and charged, and is due to appear at court on Thursday.
Road Policing Scotland wrote on X: “This vehicle failed to stop for local officers and Glasgow road police yesterday.
A lengthy pursuit along the M8 followed, which concluded after help from a HGV driver who blocked the driver’s path. “He is now in a #RoomWithNoView and will appear at court later today.” Join Glasgow Live’s WhatsApp community here[4] and get the latest news sent straight to your messages.
