A14 recap as crash involving lorry and car blocks road

Long delays on the A14 in Cambridgeshire were reported after a crash closed one lane between junctions 24 and 25 on October 11. Cambridgeshire Police[1] were called to the incident at 2.30pm today. A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: "We were called at 2.30pm today (11 October) with reports of a collision between a car and a lorry on the A14 at Bar Hill. Officers attended."

One person was injured. An East of England Ambulance Service[2] spokesperson said: "We were called just after 2.30pm to a road traffic collision between a lorry and car on the A14 near Hemingford Abbots. An ambulance, ambulance officer vehicle and a rapid response vehicle were sent to the scene.

Two lanes were closed initially, and one lane was closed from approximately 3.40pm.

A Cambridgeshire County Council spokesperson reported "long delays" and asked people to allow extra time for their journey, while traffic monitoring company Inrix described "queuing traffic".
